About Free Image Resizer

Free Image Resizer lets you change an image’s pixel dimensions directly in your browser. It can help prepare pictures for websites, blog articles, online forms, social media, presentations, and other digital projects. Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP file, enter the width and height you need, and export a resized copy without installing a separate application. Your original file remains unchanged.

Use Maintain aspect ratio to keep the image’s original proportions while adjusting its dimensions. When this option is enabled, changing the width automatically updates the height, or changing the height updates the width. If a project requires fixed dimensions, you can turn the option off and set both values independently. Keep in mind that unusually large dimensions may take more processing time and memory.

The output settings let you save the resized image as WebP, JPG, or PNG. WebP is a practical choice for many web pages, JPG is often used for photographs, and PNG can preserve transparency and provides lossless output. The quality control is available for WebP and JPG, while PNG does not use a lossy quality value. Check the output dimensions and file size after resizing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I set a specific image width and height?

Yes. Enter the dimensions in pixels. Turn off Maintain aspect ratio when you need to set width and height separately; note that different proportions may make the image appear stretched.

Why should I maintain the aspect ratio?

Maintaining the aspect ratio keeps the relationship between width and height consistent, helping prevent photos, logos, and graphics from looking squeezed or elongated.

Will the original image be changed?

No. Resizing creates a separate output file for you to download. The image you selected remains as it was.

Are my images sent to a server?

No upload to a tool server is performed by this page code. The image is loaded and processed in your browser, then the resized copy is prepared for download.
