About Free Text Editor & Find/Replace

Free Text Editor & Find/Replace is a simple browser-based tool for making quick changes to text without opening a separate desktop application. Paste notes, drafts, lists, descriptions, email content, or other text into the editor, then search for a word or phrase and replace it where needed. The editor includes word, character, and line counts to help you keep track of your content while editing.

Use Find Next to locate the next matching term, Replace to change the current match, or Replace All to update every matching occurrence. Match case lets you distinguish uppercase and lowercase text, while Match whole word only helps avoid replacing a search term when it appears inside a longer word. You can copy your edited text with one button or clear the editor and start again.

This tool is designed for everyday writing and content preparation, including blog drafts, study notes, social media captions, product descriptions, and general text cleanup. Review your changes before using the final text. Editing takes place in your browser, and the text is not uploaded by this tool to a text-editing server.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Find Next do?

Find Next selects the next matching word or phrase after the current cursor position. When it reaches the end, the search continues from the beginning.

What is the difference between Replace and Replace All?

Replace changes the current selected match, while Replace All updates every match found in the text using your replacement value.

What does Match case mean?

When Match case is enabled, uppercase and lowercase letters must match exactly. When it is disabled, the search ignores letter case.

Can I replace text with nothing?

Yes. Leave the Replace with field empty and click Replace or Replace All to remove the matching text.

Does the editor work on mobile phones?

Yes. The editor, input fields, and action buttons adapt to smaller screens, including mobile phones and tablets.

Is my text uploaded or stored online?

No. The editing and find/replace operations run locally in your browser. Copy or save your text if you need to keep a separate copy.
